Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, expressed his gratitude towards Dominicans for their support and courage amid the threat of Tropical Storm Bret.

Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, addressed the general public and expressed his gratitude towards each one of them for their support and courage amid the threat of Tropical Storm Bret.

This heartfelt thank you was extended by the Prime Minister following the Meteorological Department of Dominica and Eastern Caribbean announcement that the threat of Bret has moved away.

Prime Minister Skerrit took to his official social media channels to share the update and laud the residents and citizens of the island nation. He highlighted that he is grateful for the sheer efforts and courage shown by each and every Dominican.

The government of the Commonwealth of Dominica discontinued the Tropical Storm Warning on June 23, 2023, after carefully monitoring and surveying the path of TS Bret. As per the announcement, Bret changed its path, making Dominica safe.

This good and positive news was shared by PM Roosevelt Skerrit through social media. He was quoted saying, “I wish to thank all who rose to the occasion for any eventuality of the passing of Tropical Storm Bret. I wish to appeal to all citizens and residents to not drop your guards for the coming weeks and months to navigate through this 2023 Hurricane season.”

While offering remarks towards the Dominicans, he noted, “Let’s be on our guard for this Hurricane season.”

In addition to this, the government of Dominica issued some key points regarding the re-commencing of the work. The advisories issued were as follows:

– A flood watch is in effect for Dominica.
– All schools will remain closed.
– CXC examinations were scheduled for June 23, 2023 (Friday).
– The normal workday resumed on June 23, 2023 (Friday).

While concluding, the general public of the small island nation of Dominica was advised to stay alert and follow all the precautionary measures and guidelines.

Additionally, PM Dr Skerrit asked the public to stay strong and attentive throughout this Hurricane season.
