Castries, Saint Lucia: HelpAWS, a dog shelter in Saint Lucia, recently shared a glimpse of the week spent so far. It highlighted that, to date, many pups have been looking for a permanent or foster family.
“18 pups, two and a half days, and many foster parents and adopters patiently waiting. That has been this week so far,” it noted while sharing the weekly update.
As per the update, 18 of adorable dogs started their journey to Canada early Monday morning. They left Saint Lucia on a flight that landed in Miami. From there, the pups were picked up and driven to Buffalo. Once in Buffalo, they were driven across the border into Canada to be greeted by some very excited adopters and foster parents.
Saying these pups are scared, nervous and exhausted is an understatement. They have been through so much in such a short time – being found on the streets, thrown away like garbage, not wanted or loved – but we were able to change all of that. “Once these babies got settled at the shelter, we had to send them to Canada, which we knew would add to their stress levels. But it’s all worth it because they’re here and ready to find their fur-ever homes,” it expressed.
While updating about the latest condition, HelpAWS mentioned that four of the beautiful pups are in their forever homes, with 14 more waiting to find theirs. “We’re so happy they all have a place to sleep, rest and get lots of snuggles and treats,” it highlighted.
It added, with all that said, 14 of the pups that have made it to the GTA are still looking for their forever families. HelpAWS will be having an adoption event this Sunday at Rens Pets in Newmarket, where one will be lucky enough to meet many of these cuties and hopefully find the perfect addition to a new family. If one cannot attend the event, they can fill out an application on the official website at www.Helpaws.com/adopt.
“The pups can’t wait to experience Canada with their forever families,” it concluded.
