Guyana: Burna Boy’s show attendees robbed by bandits

The three bandits of Guyana who were in bicycle robbed four victims who were returning from the electrifying concert of international star Burna Boy. His show took place on Wednesday, 1st May 2024, and several citizens gathered there to enjoy the concert by the Nigerian superstar.

Georgetown, Guyana: The three bandits who were in bicycle robbed four victims who were returning from the electrifying concert of international star Burna Boy. His show took place on Wednesday, 1st May 2024, and several citizens gathered there to enjoy the concert by the Nigerian superstar.

The four victims who have been robbed are recognised as 41-year-old, Manager of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, 31-year-old, Office Clerk of Durban Backlands, a 25-year-old unemployed female of South Ruimveldt and a 34-year-old, Quality Assurance Officer of Durban Backlands.

The items robbed by the bandits include

  • 41-year-old was robbed of one white, gold and diamond chain worth USD $1000 and $150,000 Guyana Currency.
  • 31-year-old was robbed of one iPhone 12 valued at $100,000 GC, one 5 pennyweight gold chain, and $40,000 GC cash.
  • 25-year-old was robbed of one 3 pennyweight gold ring valued at $45,000 GC.
  • 34-year-old was robbed of one 12 R One Plus cell phone worth $120,000 GC and $6,000 GC cash.

The robbery occurred when the four victims were returning to their homes from the “Burna Boy show.” As per the reports, they were exiting from the vehicle and about to enter the yard when the bandits approached them and held a robbery.

This robbery raised a concern among the citizens of the nation and they took to their social media handles and shared their views through comments.

One person commented “Citizens should always be aware of the way they dress to attract ‘secret admirers’ Moreso, according to their profession and standard the quality of accessories being worn. People are out there just to grab. Too sad for such losses. One just can’t be comfortable to dress as one likes.”

Another commented the following: “Up to now, people still going out with jewellery on, knowing what is going on? My God.”

Moreover, the Burna Boy show turned out to be the largest ever Guyanese show, which was attended by several rich businessmen and artists. The robbers took out advantage of this situation and committed a crime.
