Govt orders to take strict action against United Pac Saint Lucia for defaming PM Pierre’s reputation
The Government of Saint Lucia criticised a Facebook page named United Pac Saint Lucia for defaming the name of the Prime Minister of the country, Philip J Pierre.

Saint Lucia: The Government of Saint Lucia criticised a Facebook page named United Pac Saint Lucia for defaming the name of the Prime Minister of the country, Philip J Pierre. In an official press release, the government outlined that the Facebook page published a statement against the PM on December 27, 2022.
According to the press release by the authorities stated that United Pac Saint Lucia published a statement which mentioned that “Prime Minister Pierre owns BMW car a brand-new house at Cap Estate by some well-known businessmen” is false.
The press release outlined that these claimed statements were false and were published to ruin the good reputation as well as the character of the Prime Minister. It furthermore claimed that such statements injure the reputation of both professional and private stations.
An official release by the government of Saint Lucia conveyed the true facts and stated that Prime Minister owns a BWM Sedan, which he brought before the 2021 General Elections. It further mentioned that monthly mortgage payments had been given by the PM to a local financial lending institution. It also clarified that he is not having any brand-new house at Cap Estate.
According to the press release, Prime Minister Pierre has asked his lawyers to take serious action against the Facebook page, United Pac Saint Lucia, the United Workers Party (UWP) and all other pages on the social media platform that published or posted any defamatory content against him.
In addition to this, the government asked the Saint Lucians to stay away from such unfounded defamatory allegations and acts as action will be taken to safeguard and protect the honour and integrity of the person. “We ask citizens to act responsibly with their thoughts, words as well as deeds and to call out all of those who peddle best and when they do so, spinelessly hide their identities behind take names and organisations,” the press release stated.
Former Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Vieux Fort South, Dr Kenny D. Anthony, has also indicated that he will pursue legal action against the aforementioned organisations, according to the government.
