St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Terrance Drew extended heartfelt thanks to PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) upon receiving an electroencephalography (EEG) Machine. This machine is provided for the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

PM Terrance Drew, who is also responsible for the health, added that the machine was much needed in the nation. He highlighted that during the time he was a physician, lots of patients he had seen were suffering from neurological diseases. And, it was not possible to conduct the required investigations to provide better treatment to them.

However, the availability of EEG Machines now enables diagnosis and fosters better treatment. This further enhances better healthcare facilities for citizens.

“As we seek to build out our sustainable island state, and we seek to build on our pillars, one of them, of course, is social protection, and under social protection comes health,” said the Health and Prime Minister.

Through these words, he also outlined how the available machine will contribute to the nation’s sustainable development. As health comes above everything, such a facility will strengthen the health sector.

Anneke Wilson, the PAHO representative of St Kitts and Nevis, also shed light on the usefulness of the machine. She mentioned that through the use of this machine, it will become convenient to diagnose mental diseases.

“The EEG Machine that you are receiving today is a powerful tool in the accurate diagnosis and effective management of neurological and mental disorders across all age groups,” said the PAHO representative of St Kitts and Nevis.

She also emphasized that PAHO’s contribution reflects the organization’s dedication to promoting and strengthening health systems, as well as advancing the health sector by introducing safe and effective medical technologies.

Importantly, the Prime Minister’s appreciation for PAHO’s contribution to fostering health in the country clearly demonstrates his gratitude. This gesture underscores his dedication and devotion to his own people and country.
