Dominica is expected to experience a significant transformation in its travel landscape this year (2024). Several airlines and ferry services have expanded their operations to provide better connectivity to the island nation. 

The officials from the Ministry of Tourism are working efficiently and dedicatedly to increase the accessibility and accommodations for the visitors from the major global hubs such as Trinidad, Saint Lucia, Barbados and Puerto Rico. 

The Tourism Minister, Denise Charles- Pemberton expressed her delight as she has shared that American Airlines is expanding its service frequency from June 5- August 5, 2024 and November 5, 2024 to March 31, 2025, with daily flights being operating throughout the week. 

Such initiatives reflect American Airlines’ confidence and trust in Dominica‘s tourism products. It will further offer various opportunities to tourists or visitors from the island nation’s primary source markets in the US and Canada. 

Tourism Minister Pemberton further stated that the government is excited about the arrival of travellers in their island nation. Tourist enthusiasts will get an opportunity to experience the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Dominica. 

They will be offered various top-class accommodations and services such as Whale watching, diving, hiking, and wellness activities. 

American Airlines’ nonstop service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Dominica is set to change frequency during the second quarter of 2024. Currently, the direct service between Miami and Dominica operates three days a week, such as Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. 

However, from June 5 to August 5, 2024, service frequency will increase to daily flights, which will be operating on all days of the week from Monday to Sunday.

Recently, Dominica has been nominated in the World Travel Awards 2024 under the category of the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination and the Caribbean’s Leading Nature Destination 2024. 

As per the information, the island nation welcomed the MSC Seaside on the shores of Roseau Cruise Ship Berth, last week. The country experienced the arrival pf astounding number of 5400 passengers, who docked in Dominica. 

The Tourism Authority of Dominica stated that the country is excited to greet the visitors from the two cruises, which will arrive on Sunday. 

It is to be noted that on Sunday, Ms Sirena, expected to bring about 77 passengers to the Royal Cruise Ship Berth, and on the same day, MV celebrity Silhouette, with a maximum capacity of 2886 tourists, will dock at the shores of Woodbridge Bay Berth.
