Dominica: St Nicholas Animal Rescue shares update about Marion, who went alone on Waitukubuli hike

Roseau, Dominica: St Nicholas Animal Rescue, located in the capital of the Commonwealth of Dominica, has recently taken social media to share an update regarding Marion, a missing French tourist who presumably went alone on the island-long Waitukubuli trail hike.

The post by the animal rescue organisation mentioned that Dominica is known as the Nature Island, but nature – while beautiful – can also be tough and dangerous. Many people come to enjoy the beautiful nature island, but some may be unprepared for its challenges. An individual may have seen FB posts about Marion, a missing French tourist who presumably went alone on the island-long Waitukubuli trail hike.

Further, it was updated that Marion’s friends, family and the Dominica Police force requested the assistance of Cleopatra – Dominica’s only professionally trained Search & Rescue dog and her handler (founder of St Nicholas Animal Rescue) in the ongoing search for Marion.

It added that Cleopatra and the K-9 search team, alongside representatives from the Dominica Police Department, Dominica Fire & Ambulance services and the Forestry sector, searched a segment of the Waitukubuli trail today.

Although the team was able to successfully search and eliminate this section, there are still many more possible areas to look for Marion. Given the size and conditions of the trails, in the absence of any reliable clues on her whereabouts, this is nearly an impossible task for any search team. Therefore we join her family and Police in asking you to please think and try to remember if you perhaps saw Marion, according to the post by the Animal Rescue Organisation.

The post further informed that the entire team, the volunteer staff at St Nicholas Animal Rescue and the K9 Search & Rescue team are ready to support and assist with any further search efforts in locating Marion. Once again – if you saw Marion – Please Call the Dominica Police Force.
