Dominica: PM Skerrit, Agriculture Minister Royer held meeting with farmers; discusses major concerns
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy has shared an information about Agricultural Minister’s “Meet the Farmers” tour, which took place on February 2 within the North Agricultural Region.

Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy of Dominica has shared an information about Agricultural Minister’s “Meet the Farmers” tour, which took place on February 2 within the North Agricultural Region.
Agriculture Ministry took it to its official social media handle to share the information with the general public, adding that, “A team from the Ministry and the Minister of Agriculture, Roland Royer, paid a visit at the North Agricultural region to hold a meeting with the farmers & farming groups for understanding their approach to agriculture farming systems and most significantly the constraints and challenges hindering their production and output.”
The team has also paid a visit at the several farms and held meeting with the groups within the region with a meeting with farmers at the Veille Case Resource Centre. Farmers have mentioned that several challenges, which include improved farm access, pest & disease control, farm labour as well as extension services within the North Agricultural administration offices.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Veille Case Dr Roosevelt Skerrit addressed some of the concerns of farmers with particular focus on the Dominica Export Import Agency positioning to purchase all commodities acceptable for the markets and farmers consuming what is grown & cultivated by themselves and their families for greater health along with more buy-in into our Eat Local Live Long national campaign.
