Dominica: Indian Ambassador to Dominica Arun Sahu pays courtesy call to PM Skerrit
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit received a courtesy call from the Indian Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Dominica Arun Kumar Sahu, on April 8.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit received a courtesy call from the Indian Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago – Arun Kumar Sahu, on April 8, 2022 (Friday).
Indian Ambassador Sahu and his delegation have been on tour to Dominica to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment. The MoU will be marked for mutual recognition of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates.
Prime Minister Skerrit took social media to share details about the latest development and stated, “I received a courtesy call from His Excellency Arun Kumar Sahu, High Commissioner of India to the Commonwealth of Dominica, on Friday morning.
His Excellency and his delegation are in Dominica to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment for the Mutual Recognition of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates.”
He further expressed gratitude towards the Government and people of India for their continuous support during the harsh times of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also highlighted the donation of 70,000 vaccines provided by the Government of India to Dominica.
“I reiterated our gratitude to the Government and people of India for their support in our management of COVID-19, dating back to the donation of 70 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine in February 2021,” PM Skerrit mentioned.
The relationship between India and Dominica is archaic. In the past, the Heads of both countries have many times extended wishes to each other.
In October 2021, Prime Minister of Dominica Skerrit congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for achieving a milestone after administering 1 billion COVID vaccines to the Indian citizens.
Earlier, PM Skerrit wrote a letter to PM Modi to express condolence and assured him that the Government, as well as the people of Dominica, are with India. He stated that the thoughts and prayers for Dominicans are with India and its people as the country endeavours to overcome the scourge.
