Cheddi Jagan International Airport undergoes construction to enhance passenger experience
While sharing the glimpses of the construction of the airport, the Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill stated that he met the technical team and the contractor building out the new Admin Building, airline offices at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

The Cheddi Jagan International Airport of Guyana is undergoing a construction and rehabilitation work of VIP Section, at a new and existing Commercial Buildings. These upgrades and expansions are anticipating to enhance the overall experience of all the passengers, providing comfortable seating and vibrant ambience.
While sharing the glimpses of the construction of the airport, the Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill stated that he met the technical team and the contractor building out the new Admin Building, airline offices at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
He stated that as part of the airport expansion, a new and improved commercial centre, business and VIP lounges, restaurants, and concession areas will be introduced for airside and land side access.
The authorities mentioned that the introduction of the Commercial centre will play a huge role in benefitting the citizens to open their small shops, restaurants or any other businesses in airport, generating employment opportunities and enhancing economic conditions of the nation. Thus, help to enhance the infrastructure and viability of both the airways as well as the travellers exposed to the services.
The construction of business and VIP lounges will be equipped with advanced facilities to offer a tranquil and comfortable environment to all the visitors, where guests can relax, work, or refresh before their flight. The authorities noted that these lounges will offer a range of amenities to enhance the overall experience of all the travellers and provide them comfortable environment.
While shedding light on the construction of the restaurant in the Cheddi Jagan International airport, the authorities mentioned that it will not only create job opportunities but also play a huge role in fostering local cuisines which will be served to the visitors from various corners of the world.
The authorities stated that the inclusion of the concession area in the airport would play an important part for the visitors, offering them range of products and services, cater to their needs and demands.
With this expansion, the authorities aim to improve the overall connectivity, attracting foreign investments and broadening export opportunities. The authorities of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport reiterated their commitment of enhancing the operational efficiency of the airport.
