Caribbean Premier League to contribute US$50,000 to tertiary level education in Grenada

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is all set to make a significant contribution of US$50,000 in order to extend a helping hand to the tertiary level students of Grenada.

Caribbean Premier League to contribute US$50,000 to tertiary level education in Grenada

The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is all set to make a significant contribution of US$50,000 in order to extend a helping hand to the tertiary level students of Grenada. This assistance will be offered to all those students who have had their last year of education disrupted, following the disastrous impact of Hurricane Beryl in July 2024.

The Hurricane Beryl 2024 created a destructive impact on the lives of all the residents in the northern parts of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. It also left several students needing considerable support to complete their education.

Therefore, this donation by the Caribbean Premier League will play a huge role in supporting students and providing them with facilities including, accommodation, meals, transportation and school supplies while they continue their studies at T.A. Marryshow Community College.

Along with that, the management team of the Caribbean Premier League also shed light on their commitment to bringing a large number of students to the Caribbean Premier League in 2025 to work as interns at the event. They noted that such support will help students with their professional development as they consider their future career options.

The Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell also expressed their gratitude for this support from the Caribbean Premier League. He stated that they are truly grateful for the assistance that Republic Bank CPL is giving to the young people as they look to rebuild their lives following the massive impact of Hurricane Beryl on Grenada.

PM Dickon Mitchell stated that this support from the Caribbean Premier League would be very helpful for them to recover from the immediate impact of the disaster and focus solely on continuing the studies of all students.

While shedding light on this support, the CEO of the Caribbean Premier League, Pete Russell stated that everyone at CPL has been touched by the impact that Beryl has had across the region. He expressed his happiness on being able to held a helping hand to all these students in completing their studies and look for a bright future ahead.

He further asserted that it is very important for them to support the youth of the Caribbean in order to have a brighter and prosperous future for the region. The CEO further mentioned that they are looking forward to hearing the progress of these students and welcoming them to the tournament next year.

CEO Russell asserted that they are optimistic that these young people will definitely enjoy working with the Caribbean Premier League team and ensure to offer all these students a hugely rewarding experience.
