Bahamas recognizes 11 members of National Sports Hall of Fame Class 2023
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Bahamas extended its congratulations to the members of the National Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Bahamas extended its congratulations to the members of the National Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
The ministry stated that these athletic eras connect their past to the present and the men and women present on the list of the National Sports Hall of Fame have given their all for the development of sports in the nation.
The members included in the National Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2023:
– Craig Flowers
– Jennifer Isaacs
– Irvin Taylor
– John Johnson
– Larry Davis
– Fernley Palmer
– Anton Sealy
– Peter F. Pratt
– Yvonne Lockhart
– Mark Knowles
– James Brown
Craig Flowers is known for his philanthropy, gaming and sports. Flower is seen as the driving force in the golf. Therefore, he has been recognized for his esteemed work by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture of Bahamas.
John Johnson, who is also known as John Bumpy Johnson. Johnson was the legend of basketball. He played for the Warriors Junior Basketball team in 1964, and he joined the Paradise Island Basketball Team in 1977.
Jennifer Isaacs Doston is an inductee into the National Sports Hall of Fame. She has been acknowledged for her years of contribution to the sport of volleyball.
Yvonne Lockhart has been the star of the game ‘softball’. She has been the player, coach and administrator of the game. Yvonne has also founded the Rising Stars Softball Development League under the banner of Little League International to foster youth softball.
Fernley Palmer is also known as one of the Bahamas’ premier boxing judges and administrators. He served many years of his life at Bahamas Reform School and now he is serving his duties in the Simpson Penn School for Boys. He is recognized by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture for his lifelong contribution to the development of sports.
James Brown, who is also known as Sam Brown, is recognized for devoting many years of his life to Cycling. Sam Brown’s greatest achievement is representing the Bahamas and travelling the world in terms of cycling.
Larry Davis is recognized for serving his duties on The Bahamas Olympic Committee’s executive team from the period 1970 to 2008. He is a multi-sport athlete and a leader in various sports, namely Cricket, Soccer, Basketball and Track and field.
Irvin Taylor has made a huge contribution towards the game of Cricket. Talyor is the inductee into the National Sports Hall of Fame Class 2023 for his esteemed work and dedication towards the sport.
Peter F. Pratt was best known for the Long Jump, 400m relay, and Triple Jump at many CAC games. All- American Champion status has been achieved by Pratt three times.
Anton Sealy played a huge role as the Match Commissioner in the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, which was held in Brazil. Antony’s major contribution towards football has made him an inductee into the National Sports Hall of Fame.
Mark Knowles is a Davis Cup veteran for the Bahamas. He has been acknowledged by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture for his major contribution in tennis.
