Arrival of 10,820 cruise passengers in single day marks towards tourism expansion
Heavy tourism from Cruise calls have been seen this Cruise Season in Antigua and Barbuda. There have been many cruise calls witnessed bringing a significant count of tourists. Country once again welcomed five cruise ships in a single day with 10,820 passengers.

Antigua and Barbuda: Heavy tourism from Cruise calls have been welcomed this Cruise Season in Antigua and Barbuda. There have been several cruise calls witnessed bringing a significant count of tourists. Country once again welcomed five cruise ships in a single day with 10,820 passengers.
An arrival of such significant number of passengers marks the tourism expansion and serves as an example of Antigua and Barbuda, being leading tourist destinations. This indicates towards the development of Antigua and Barbuda as more tourists, more will be the income generated.
Not only this, it as well attracts more tourists to the country by sharing joyful experiences they had on the land. Such impacts greatly and allures others to explore the place.
An upsurge has been seen in Cruise Tourism as the last week of March 2024 had great cruise tourism in Antigua and Barbuda. The week interestingly had over 10,000 cruise passengers as it has come forward that 9570 tourists came to the island through six vessels which are:
- Seabourn
- Quest Marella Voyager
- Britannia
- Norwegian Viva
- Sea Dreamer
- Royal Clipper
From the six cruise ships, four docked at Heritage Quay Port, while the other two docked at the Falmouth Harbour Port. Seabourn, Quest Marella Voyager, Britannia and Norwegian Viva arrived at Heritage Quay Port, However, Sea Dreamer and Royal Clipper docked at Harbour Port.
Not only this, Sirena as well made a call to Antigua’s sister Island, Barbuda which brought up more than 600 passengers. Interestingly, it became the largest vessel to ever visit Barbuda. For this year even the projection was made to have the arrivals of 4,00,000 cruise passengers and such arrivals with huge counts in a single day are directed towards its fulfillment.
Country and the people are celebrating the success and are even making every possible effort to keep the passengers’ visit safe.
“I hope we can keep them safe while they visit,” mentioned one of the citizens. And, it presents their kind efforts towards providing safe visits to their guests.
People are even appreciating the efforts of the Prime Minister, Gaston Brown, for the work he is doing for the growth and development of the country.
