The vessels including Celebrity Summit and Azamara Onward docked at the shores of Antigua and Barbuda on Thursday, bringing more than 3,000 passengers to the country.
Passengers on board the vessels enjoyed and explored endless opportunities offered by the twin-island nation.
While extending a welcome to the captain, crew members and the passengers, the tourism authority of Antigua and Barbuda called it ‘a beautiful day in paradise’. They also thanked all the international visitors for choosing Antigua and Barbuda as a part of their cruise journey.
“Two stunning vessels, hundreds of excited travelers, and endless opportunities to discover the vibrant heart of our island. From the shops at Heritage Quay to the charm of Nevis Street Pier, there’s so much to explore,” noted Antigua Cruise Port.
Antigua and Barbuda also received three cruise ships on Tuesday, bringing around 7494 passengers to the twin-island nation. The vessels such as Enchanted Princess and Marella Voyager docked at Heritage Quay.
Meanwhile, AIDABELLA berthed at the port of Nevis St Pier. “With thousands of guests arriving to experience our vibrant island, it’s another beautiful day in paradise,” noted Antigua Cruise Port.
Tourism Authority aims to welcome 40,000 visitors in a week
The Tourism Authority of Antigua and Barbuda started the December Cruise month on a high note bringing more than 11,000 visitors on the first day with the arrival of six cruise ships.
The vessels that berthed on the first day of December included, Arvia, Carnival Venezia, Oceania’s Vista, Viking Sea, Explorer 2 and Star Flyer. The authorities are on their vision of welcoming 40,000 visitors throughout the week, aiming to bring a major footfall.
The authorities added that they are looking forward to achieving their target of welcoming 40,000 visitors, aiming to showcase and promote the natural beauty, lush rainforests, vibrant culture and traditions of the country.
The tourism authority mentioned that Antigua and Barbuda has something to offer to all their attendees. Whether a traveller is exploring Heritage Quay or Nevis Street Pier, they are committed to make sure their visit to the country is ‘unforgettable’.
