Anderson Peters clinches bronze in Men’s Javelin in Paris Olympics, brings second medal for Grenada

Grenada: Anderson Peters of Grenada claimed bronze medal in the final of men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics 2024. His victory has once again made him lift the flag of the country on an international platform.

Anderson displayed excellent form from the starting round of the event and launched the instrument to a best mark of 88.54m on his fourth attempt to claim the bronze medal for his country. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem sets a new Olympic Record with 92.97m, taking gold, while India’s Neeraj Chopra earns silver medal with an SB of 89.45m.

This is also the first time that Anderson has competed in the finals of the Olympics and threw a distance of 88.54m to claim Grenada’s second medal in the Olympics 2024.

Following his exceptional performance in the Olympics final, the Government of Grenada extended congratulations to Anderson Peters, on winning the bronze medal in the final of the men’s javelin at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They recognized his commitment and dedication and stated that his outstanding performance rings true to his hard work, and incredible talent in the javelin event.

The Government called it a historic victory as Anderson adds an Olympic bronze medal to his two world championships. The Prime Minister stated that Anderson has made his family, coach, parish and his entire country incredibly proud of his achievements. He stated that it is the time to celebrate Anderson’s hard work, success and his unwavering commitment to excellence.

Notably, Anderson has been trained by coach Paul Phillip for many years. The coach also praised the athlete and stated that his hard work and journey is inspiration to all.

Following that, the Grenada’s Athletic Commission also extended congratulations to Peters and stated that this medal is a testament to unwavering commitment and dedication of the athlete towards excellence. They further noted that his remarkable talent has continued to become a huge source of inspiration for all the athletes who are striving hard to represent their nation on an international platform.

The Commission further noted that they are extremely proud of Anderson Peters and are hoping for him to elevate into greater heights in future. Following his victory, the athlete extended gratitude to his family, coaches, supporters and all the citizens of the countrymen. He stated that this medal means a lot to him and his country and promised to work even harder to claim gold medal in the next game.
