Roseau, Dominica: A small aircraft crashed on Wednesday morning at the Canefield Airport. As per the reports, when the pilot was taking off, he cited strong winds which resulted in the toppling of the aircraft.
There were only two occupants in the plane, the pilot and his wife, who were on the single-engine Cessna, and they had not sustained any injury. However, the aircraft received substantial damages due to crashing to the ground.

The reason behind this aircraft crash is being considered a tropical storm caused by Hurricane Beryl in Dominica. Moreover, a tropical storm and flood watch was also in effect for Dominica, but it has been discontinued now. However, the flash flood activity and the rough seas from the passage of Hurricane Beryl damaged several homes along the entire west coast of Dominica.
Also, Hurricane Beryl created huge devastation in several Caribbean regions such as Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and recently Jamaica. The Beryl’s eyewall skirted the southern coast of the island nation and the emergency groups rushed to evacuate people from the flood-prone areas.
As per the National Hurricane Centre, the warning has been discontinued for Jamaica as it moves away from the island nation. Now, it will pass near the Cayman Islands with destructive wind gusts and storm surge. Also, the tropical storm warning is in effect for northern Belize. Therefore, the authorities have urged the residents to stay vigilant and alert in order to be prepared for adverse weather conditions.
This Hurricane Beryl has caused life-threatening situations in several Caribbean regions, but in these difficult times, the neighbouring countries are extending help to each other and helping them recover from this situation.
Notably, the government of Dominica has also promised to help the citizens affected by Hurricane Beryl’s devastating effects. The country’s Prime Minister, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, stated that he would make every possible effort to help his citizens recover from such difficult situations.
