Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A 20-year-old landscaper died after he was stabbed during a dispute in Diego Martin on Monday, November 27, 2023.
The deceased was identified as Jerod Tiwari of #3 Blue Basin Avenue. Notably, around 1:30 pm, Tiwari was at North Post Road near Delegates Pet Shop when he got into an argument with persons over monies owned for cutting a tree.
It is to be noted that in a quarrel, one of the suspects took out a knife and stabbed a 20-year-old on the left side of the chest.
Reportedly, as soon as his friend visited him, he took him to the St James Medical Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Tiwari’s friend immediately called the police and informed them about the matter. The officials reached the crime scene in no time.
The investigating department of Trinidad and Tobago examined the case, and further inquiries are being made. Unfortunately, the suspects are yet to be recognised.
However, instead of strict laws and regulations, people are not scared to commit these kinds of terrifying crimes. Such stances of crime threatened the integrity and fraternity of the nation.
Additionally, just a day before this incident, a cutlass-wielding man was shot and wounded by police at a villa in Rockley Vale, Tobago, on Saturday.
Notably, a 34-year-old victim was outside his home in San Pablo when he was ambushed and shot. His wife heard the gunshots while sitting in a room and ran outside. She then found her husband holding his chest.
He subsequently told her about the person who shot him before she rushed him to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the right upper chest.
The police were notified, and the responding officers went in search of the suspect, who is yet to be found.
To deal with such crimes, people need to be aware and respond immediately if they witness anything like this.
