St Lucia: Quiana Charles wins first prize in poetry competition at the Alliance Francaise
On April 6, the prize-giving ceremony was held to award the winners of the school competitions. The ceremony was organised at the Alliance Francaise, Pointe Seraphine Castries.

St Lucia: The International Francophonie Day is celebrated throughout world every year, on March 20, in countries where French is the dominating country, as well as in those where the French language is less widespread.
In 2021, the day was held under the theme, “The Francophonie of the future”, in its entrepreneurial, digital and environmental dimensions to put the spotlight on the organization’s support for the Youth and its aspirations, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship, digital and sustainable development.
On April 6 (Wednesday), the prize-giving ceremony was held to award the winners of the school competitions. The ceremony was organised at the Alliance Francaise, Pointe Seraphine Castries.
The poetry competition winner was Quiana Charles of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. The poetry competition winner was Destiny Fredericks of the Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School. Thomas Joseph and Lyanna Thornille won second place and third place, respectively.
The students were rewarded with a number of exciting prizes, including tablets and other electronic devices, gift vouchers, French books and French classes at the Alliance Francaise.
The Committee also recognized and presented awards to the Pierrot Combined School and the Anse Ger Secondary Schools for the activities held at their schools.
The National Committee for the Francophonie expressed appreciation to the sponsors who every year support their initiatives.
