‘7’ people left homeless in an electrical fire, Guyana Power and Light Dept blamed

Georgetown, Guyana: Seven people were left homeless after an electrical fire broke out at the Hampshire, Corentyne. The victim held Guyana’s Power and Light responsible for this tragic incident.
As per the details, two elders and five children were residing in this home. The identity of the owner of the house has been identified as Randolph Alert, a cane harvester and vendor residing in Lot 77 Hampshire Village, Corentyne Berbice.
According to the information, Alert and his wife were away selling vegetables at the Rose Hall Town Market, leaving their children at home. The children who were at the top floor of the house noticed a smell of smoke on the lower floor and immediately alerted the family and ran out of the house.
The matter was immediately reported to the Rose Hall Town Fire Station but they could not able to do anything as the place was already burn down and severely damaged. Following the incident, Alert blamed the Guyana Power and Light for this tragic incident and stated that it has happened due to their irresponsibility towards their duties.
While shedding light on it, Alert stated that he shared his concern regarding the malfunctioning electricity meter to Guyana Power and Light, but their matter remains unsolved, resulted in contributing to the tragic fire that ensued.
This suspected fire has caused severe damage to the entire house, resulting in the substantial loss of 7 million dollars in property and possession of the victims.
While expressing his disappointment on the incident, Alert stated that it is very difficult for him to rebuild their home and lives. He added that they are diligently evaluating their options and contemplating their further course of action in the aftermath of this incident.
After this incident, the netizens asked the authorities to be diligent towards their duties in order to avoid such incidents in future. The Guyana Power and Light have also promised to be commitment towards their responsibilities and have assured the citizens that they will always be available for the services of their citizens.
