Jamaica: A 61-year-old former Jamaican Jockey dies of getting punched by a tow truck driver during a heated dispute over parking in Brooklyn, New York. The incident is reported to have taken place on Saturday night.
The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Jamaican national Carlyle Thomas, and the tow truck driver has been identified as 30-year-old Kevon Johnson.
As per the details shared by the authorities, the victim used to pay US$10 for parking at a gas station on Clarkson Avenue near Rockaway.
According to the reports, on Saturday night, Thomas parked his vehicle in the same area when someone at the gas station asked a tow truck driver to remove the vehicle of the victim from the said place.
During this, Thomas tried his best to stop getting the vehicle towed, which resulted in a dispute between him and Kevon Johnson. Subsequently, the driver punched Thomas in the face and the victim fell to the ground.
Subsequently, Carlyle Thomas was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and the authorities arrested Kevon Johnson on the charges of assault.
Several residents of the community took to their official Facebook account and extended condolences to the deceased and expressed their views on the news.

“Assault charges. There should be at least a 2nd-degree murder charge against the man who punched him,” wrote Jackeem Mccalister.
The incident has asked the authorities to take stringent action against the tow truck driver for the crime he committed. Along with that, they have made requests to the administration to implement some serious measures, to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
