50CARIFTA: PM Philip J Pierre congratulates Saint Lucian athletes for shinning
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, has congratulated the Saint Lucian athletes for performing so well in 50CARIFTA.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of the Caribbean country of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, has congratulated the Saint Lucian athletes for performing so well in 50CARIFTA. As per the updates, Saint Lucia sent its nine (9) players to represent the nation in the 50th edition of CARIFTA Games 2023.
The Prime Minister extended his wishes towards all the athletes for winning eight (8) medals. He felt proud that some of the athletes won double medals during the sporting event.
Prime Minister Pierre took to social media and asked the general public of Saint Lucia to join him in congratulating all the players who made the nation proud. He stated, “Join me in congratulating all medalists and athletes who participated in the 50th Carifta Games held in the Bahamas and Curaçao during the weekend.”
Furthermore, he outlined that the government of Saint Lucia has been working tirelessly to upgrade and develop the infrastructure and different sectors of the nation. PM Philip J Pierre outlined that the government has been putting some extra efforts towards the upliftment of the sports sector.
The post by PM Pierre read, “We continue to see the power of sports in the promotion of health, education, as well as economic livelihoods of all those who are committed as well as disciplined to their sport.”
While concluding the post, the minister expressed his pride and said, “We are proud of your achievements.”

The 50th edition of the games ended on April 10, 2023, and as 50CARIFTA concluded, Jamaica has emerged as the winner with a total of 78 medals. Out of the total, 40 gold, 22 silver and 16 bronze were bagged. The second position at the points table was secured by the host nation Bahamas, followed by Trinidad and Tobago, which has never failed to shine in the sporting games.
