Nevis: Premier Mark Brantley shares job growth, says “Excellent news on the job front for Nevis”

St Kitts and Nevis: Premier of Nevis and Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) – Mark Brantley has taken social media to praise Nevis for increasing job opportunities for the youth on the island.
He outlined that he is glad that the country has been witnessing a surge in job opportunities with the recovery from the global pandemic – COVID-19.
Mark Brantley further shared a picture showing the official Social Security data up to March 2022.
Premier Brantley mentioned, “Excellent news on the job front for Nevis. As we recover from the Covid19 pandemic, we are seeing some job growth on Nevis, which is encouraging.”
Furthermore, he mentioned that the official data from Social Security up to March 2022 shows that the number of employees in Nevis grew by 2.9%, and the number of jobs grew by 4.9%.
During that same period, gross wages grew by a significant 7.3%, and wages per employee grew by 4.3%, while wages per job grew by 2.4%, as per the data shared by Premier Brantley.
He was also quoted as “Of course, Social Security does not account for all jobs as many self-employed and others working in undeclared jobs are not captured. The actual numbers then are much higher.”
Premier Brantley expressed his pleasure and concluded, “We are moving in the right direction, Nevis. Let us not only keep but #IncreaseTheMomentum.”
