The new cruise ship, Norwegian Luna, belongs to the Prima Plus Class of Norwegian Cruise Line. Its sister ship, Norwegian Aqua, is also part of the same class.

NCL announces Norwegian Luna cruise for Caribbean to launch in 2026

The Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced a new ship named Norwegian Luna to sail on the Caribbean Sea. The Cruise ship will be ready to serve visitors in the year of 2026, one year after the launch of another ship named Norwegian Aqua in the next year of 2025.

The new cruise ship, Norwegian Luna, belongs to the Prima Plus Class of Norwegian Cruise Line. Its sister ship, Norwegian Aqua, is also part of the same class. The ship in 2026 is coming with evolution to the Prima Class ships by NCL, with increased size and capacity.

While keeping the demand for the big cruise ship in the market and its usage, NCL designed the cruise to be 322 meters stretched in length. The cruise will be bigger in size by around ten percent from the existing Prima Class ships serving in the ocean like Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Luna ship is designed by top architects in the field like Piero Lissoni, AD Associates, and Rockwell Group. The ship is built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and it is disclosed that the cruise will carry a capacity to host 3,550 guests.

The Norwegian Luna cruise will be the 21st addition to the fleet of the Norwegian Cruise Line to take visitors on the journey of seas. It is expected that the ship will debut its venture in the Caribbean Sea in the month of March or April 2026.

It is understood that the cruise will inaugurate its trip from the coast of Miami and will take guests on the seven-day Caribbean voyages. The NCL heads mentioned that their Norwegian Luna will not just contain the innovative design and cutting-edge amenities but will also enhanced cruise experience.

The NCL officials revealed what people are going to experience when they come on board. Norwegian Luna will host the guests with the exclusive Aqua Slide coaster, which will be a hybrid of rollercoaster and waterslide, and the Drop, a ten-story tall free-fall slide.

There will be Glow Court on the cruise, which is a sports complex that also serves as a nightclub. The ship will also feature the Stadium, that is an outdoor activities area. The people who like art will see the work of street artist ELLE.

The focus point will be an art piece named La Luna, which is a visual exploration of connection of humanity with celestial forces. Along with all, the luxury ship will come with Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites and exclusive access to The Haven by Norwegian.

The Haven by Norwegian is a special addition to the cruise by Norwegian Cruise Line which is a keycard-only complex. This will give the visitor special facilities like an infinity pool, a private lounge, and 24-hour butler service.

With its launch in 2026, the Norwegian Luna cruise will mark its presence through the two exciting itineraries of the Western Caribbean. The ship will take the visitors on-board to coasts of Roatan Island in Honduras, Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, and Harvest Caye in Belize.

In the Eastern Caribbean region, it will touch the coast of destinations like St Thomas in US Virgin Islands, Tortola in British Virgin Islands, and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. The cruise will also take the visitors to the private island of the Norwegian Cruise Line.

The cruising company adding an exclusive spot of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas for their guests, which will be operational till the last months of 2025. The company is excited for Norwegian Luna, which is also expressed by David J Herrera, the President of Norwegian Cruise Line.
