Minister Hilaire hosts Black Cake & Sorrel Competition outside Constituency Office
The Deputy Minister Ernest Hilaire hosted the Black Cake and Sorrel Competition outside the Constituency Office on Sunday.

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, as well as the member of parliament serving for the Castries South, Ernest Hilaire, hosted the Black Cake and Sorrel Competition outside the Constituency Office.
The event was held on December 17, 2023 at 6 pm.
Minister Hilaire shared that the weather kept disturbing throughout the festivities, but it could not limit the joy of children. He extended a vote of thanks to parents and community teams as well.

“This year the rain was a constant challenge but the children would not be daunted. They certainly enjoyed themselves. My special thanks to the various community teams and parents”, he stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia took to his official Facebook handle to share glimpses of celebrations.

Forthcoming Events
Minister Hilaire hosting a Children’s Christmas Party in different constituencies. The upcoming events are as follows,
– Hamper Distribution, December 18 and 19
– Christmas Solo, December 22
Notably, Hilaire paid visits to multiple places for the celebration of the Children’s Christmas Party, such as Marigot, St Joseph, Banane, Goodlands and many more.

The member of parliament serving for the Castries South has always been constant in organizing events for the people of Saint Lucia, and he also actively takes an interest in community affairs, which mainly include,
– Taking part in public gatherings
– Organizing events for public welfare
– To have one-to-one talks with the members of the constituency to understand the on-ground knowledge of Castries South better.
While keeping in mind the public welfare, the government of Saint Lucia has also approved barrel concession for the Christmas Season of 2023.
It is to be noted that the number of barrels that would meet the requirements for the concession would be restricted to two per household.
It is to be added in the Government of Saint Lucia’s remarks that electronics items are comprehensively excluded from the concessions.
However, the items that are being sanctioned to this concession will attract a Customs Service Charge, which is fixed at the rate of six per cent (6%).
Moreover, as the veil of night falls on Saint Lucia, the island’s celebrated nightlife emerges. From legendary “jump up” street festivities to full-moon beach parties to club-hopping, Saint Lucia remains the first choice of travel enthusiasm.
