With six-decade of celebrated career within the genre, the icon affectionately known as the “Calypso King of the World”, Sparrow has had his career act as a touchstone for generations of artists to follow.

The highlight of the evening was the appearance of Machel Montano, one of the most popular Trinidadian Soca singers, who accompanied Mighty Sparrow on stage. Both these singers despite originating from different generations within Caribbean music, sang in one line mesmerizing all the audience members.

Caribbean Music Awards, the event being in the second years of its existence, is one of the leading festivals of Caribbean music with its influence witnessed throughout the world.
