Dominica: The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit, has congratulated Queen Tasha P or Tasha Peltier for winning ‘The 2022 Calypso Monarch title in Dominica’.

Melissa Skerrit further praised the star for the powerful execution of her hit calypso sing ‘Frenemy Remedy’. “Congratulations, Queen Tasha P or Tasha Peltier! Your powerful execution of your hit calypso song ‘Frenemy Remedy’ placed you as the winner on the judges’ score sheets and in our hearts,” she mentioned.

She underscored, “It is definitely woman time.”

“Calypso is about social commentary, and I commend you for using this as an avenue to motivate women, children and society at large,” she further added.

She further lauded the song, sung by Queen Tasha Peltier, and mentioned the meaning. She further wrote the lyrics.

“This winning song asked us to take a closer look at our friendships and supported Roman’s 12:20 by illustrating perfect ways to ‘heap coals of fire’ on our frenemies’ heads,” the parliamentary representative of Roseau Central stated.

“Beware of frienemies! Don’t confront, don’t hit, don’t badmouth… just kill them with kindness,” she concluded.

The congratulations and wishes were poured on the artist. One mentioned, “On behalf of the students, staff and parents of the San Sauveur Primary school, we would like to congratulate Tasha P on being crowned The 2022 Calypso Monarch. She did a special number for us. Thank you and congratulations again!!!”

Earlier, giving power to the women of Dominica, praised the Dominican team of the OECS/ECCB International Netball tournament for never giving up throughout the tournament. She further applauded the team for the improved world ranking.

“Dominica, you played like champions during the OECS/ECCB International Netball tournament! You were sorely tested with five ill players and unexpected injuries; however, you never gave up! View this recent journey as a learning experience and an opportunity to grow. I must applaud your improved netball world ranking from 38 to 36. You have every reason to be proud!” Melissa Skerrit mentioned.
