Dominica: The Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency – Melissa Popenne-Skerrit, has expressed pleasure to welcome the Red Army Foundation to the Constituency for the first time in history.

“I was extremely pleased to welcome the Red Army to Roseau Central for the first time. This vibrant group of young professionals who are associated with the Dominica Labour Party are all about giving back to their communities,” Parliamentary Representative Ms Skerrit stated.

She further lauded the foundation for another philanthropic gesture. She mentioned, “In yet another philanthropic gesture, the Red Army donated packages to six recipients and also presented a stroller to a physically challenged child.”

Melissa Skerrit further expressed thanks to the Red Army for continuously keeping up with their commitment. She also asked the young professionals to join the Red Army and to get engaged in such worthy causes.

“Thank you, Red Army, for creating a sense of community and your continued commitment to our blessed country. I am encouraging other young professionals to come on board and join the Red Army in these worthy causes,” the representative of Roseau Constituency further notified.

The Red Army Foundation stated, “On Thursday, February 24th, 2022, the Red Army Foundation made a donation to a few individuals from the Roseau Central constituency, in collaboration with the MP Hon. Melissa Poponne-Skerrit. The presentation was done at the Labour House and consisted of food hampers & a stroller to a mother with a disabled child.”

On the same day, the Parliamentary Representative had a meeting with the leaders of the Dominica National Scout Association and the Girl Guides Association of Dominica. She was accompanied by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.

The meeting was conducted to address their administrative building, which was damaged because of Hurricane Maria. The meeting decided that the building would be rehabilitated soon.
