Farmers' protest in India: Today's Protest will be tomorrow's Revolution

India: 2020 year has been the worst of all. The whole year was a mixed player of ‘ We want Justice’ and ‘We want Vaccine,’ people have seen evil truth of respective governmental authorities. At the same time, India is facing a real challenge.

Several crime rates and COVID-19 pandemic made it worse. Moreover, Natural disasters petrified enormous which includes Beirut Explosion, Australian bushfire, Pakistan airline crash, Ukrainian jetliner crash in Iran, Devastating floods in Indonesia, Communal riots in Delhi, Earthquakes in Turkey and the Caribbean, Locusts swam in East Africa, Gas plant explosion in Lagos in Nigeria and Agitation in France too.

If we talk about India farmers, protest is the Country’s heating topic. Their agitation turned the Country upside-down. They are sitting on the borders to prevail justice. Their voices are louder than ever. Indian Government launched Farm Bill 2020 that was rigorously questioned by the farmers. They opposed these agricultural bills and started protesting in large number. In September 2020 they took their plan of action in consideration.

The three bills are Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce(Promotion and Facilitation), Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. The Government suggested that these will change farmers’ future for good, but farmers opposed the idea.

Farmers’ strategy is commendable as they are not opting for ‘Hunger Strike’ but a manoeuvring approach. Farmers from states like Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar and Haryana made their unions and went to Country’s capital Delhi for their interaction with the Government. The Government attacked farmers on the border to restrict their entry in the capital that agonize the farmers. In response, they fought back and stood there to fight against all the laws that are not in favour.

Additionally, many well-known celebrities came in support. Countries like Canada, England and America also showed their objection. Whereas some NGO’s like Khalsa Aid came in assistance for farmers well being. Many of the Farmer Union leaders made sure to spread the news in the whole world. Even people from different countries joined this march on the borders with these farmers.

Farmer’s objection is the spirit which was lacking in the citizens. They made realized that the public has the power to destroy or make. Their today’s protest will be tomorrow’s Revolution.
