Dominican Republic: Earlier, the death due to consumption of alcohol were encountered, but now people are dying because consumption of adulterated alcohol.
This year, the rate of deaths caused by intake of adulterated alcoholic beverages exceeds 100 after the officials announced this Saturday that there are deaths of three more individuals.
According to the sources of the Northwest Regional Directorate of the National Police, the casualties occurred in the provinces of Santiago Rodriguez & Montecristi.
The new victims include Josefina Tejada Espinal, Maria del Carmen Ramirez Moya, Haitian Calamidad Pie, aged -49, 44, and 43.
How did officials claim that the cause of death is adulterated alcohol?
It was registered that Tejada Espinal told her daughter, before her death, that Tejada had bought the drink in the colmado Rodriguez, situated in the Monción’s municipality, so the case is being investigated to establish accountabilities.
Simultaneously, the corpse of the Haitian Pie was found in a state of decomposition, together with various empty bottles of “Peter Allen” rum, in a house which was under construction situated in the Los Jazmín sector of -Montecristi.
Ramirez Moya, who lived in the Guayubin municipality, died while obtaining medical assistance at the hospital of that locality.
Officials have stated, The corpses of the departed will be sent to the National Institute of-Forensic Sciences (Inacif), in the city of Santiago de los-Caballeros, for the analogous legal purposes.
So far this year, 21 individuals have died of alcohol inebriation in the Línea Noroeste -(Northwest Line). Due to the uptick in deaths, the experts have launched an operation to dismantle surreptitious stills in several parts of the nation. Meanwhile, the administration notified the issue of adulterated alcoholic beverages as a national security dispute.
Among various measures, the administration has declared the reinforcement of methanol import and commercialization restrictions and the implementation of an intellect and traceability program in the methanol import and commercialization concatenation.
