CHTA appreciates youth at SOTIC Caribbean’s Junior Ministers of Tourism

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) celebrated the emerging talent and the young tourism champions at the event of the Caribbean’s Junior Ministers of Tourism during the Tropical Shipping Regional Tourism Youth Congress. The event was a part of the State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in the Cayman Islands.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism, Vanessa Ledesma, was also present at the event as a judge of the competition. At the gathering, she appreciated the youngsters of the region for their talent, which could lead to a better future for the industry.

The competition was for the young representatives at the Caribbean’s Junior Ministers of Tourism to display their vision for the future of tourism in the Caribbean. CEO Vanessa Ledesma was especially impressed by a young participant from Nevis named Keyana Warner.

Keyana Warner’s ideas in her presentation highlighted her forward-thinking, passion, and expertise, which was applauded by the attendees. Her vision was seen as a helpful mention of the steps that could be taken for the improvement of Caribbean tourism.

As one of the judges, Ledesma explained in her words that the ideas presented by all the young participants were remarkable, which also disclosed their talent and the bright future of the sector. Naming the winner of the competition was not easy.

Vanessa Ledesma said at the Caribbean’s Junior Ministers of Tourism event, “All participants demonstrated an impressive level of talent and deep understanding of the socioeconomic impact of the industry. We were truly impressed by the caliber of presentations across the board.”

She added, “Each participant brought unique insights and thought-provoking ideas to the table, showcasing a comprehensive grasp of the challenges and opportunities facing the tourism industry. The entire congress deserves recognition for their outstanding contributions and the high level of engagement they brought to this important discussion.”

The participants at the Youth Congress used the platform of the Caribbean’s Junior Ministers of Tourism by SOTIC to display their innovative concepts. The emerging tourism leaders in the region represented their respective territories and explored their abilities in terms of present and future potential for growth.

The young minds covered all aspects of the industry and focused on policy discussions, tourism promotion, cultural exchanges, and more. The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association keeps on promoting young tourism professionals with its programs like the Young Leaders Forum.

The focus of this program is to support and build the next generation of leaders so that they can perform exceptionally well in the hospitality and tourism industry. The association structured the framework in such a way that enhances the skills and knowledge of the youth in order to perform well.
