Bermudian-run Ubersoca Cruise wins Best Cruise Event at Caribbean Music Awards for catering to Caribbean diaspora

Bermudian-run Ubersoca Cruise (USC) which is known as the Largest Caribbean Music Festival at Sea has been awarded with the Best Cruise Event of the Year at the Caribbean Music Awards 2024.

The award show took place on August 29th, 2024 at Kings Theatre, Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York and recognized artists, producers, and industry professionals who have significantly contributed to the Caribbean music landscape.

The cruise, which has been exploring destinations such as St Croix and Taino Bay in Puerto Plato, Dominican Republic, beat out several other charters to win the Caribbean Music Award 2024.

The award was collected by the Bermudian chief executive Nathaniel Turner and chief marketing officer Jodi Covington. While shedding light on this exceptional victory, the Bermudian chief executive Nathaniel Turner stated that this award is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication that drive Ubersoca Cruise.

While extending gratitude to all the workers, he stated that this award is for every crew member, artist, and guest who has turned this cruise into a floating celebration of Caribbean culture.

He emphasized the foundation of the cruise and stated that he found it in 2015 after doing a family cruise that did not resonate with the roots of the Caribbean region. He noted that the cruise had nothing exciting, neither food, atmosphere, nor entertainment.

Turner, therefore, received the idea of creating a cruise that caters to all the needs and demands of the Caribbean diaspora, offering them soca music and cultural experiences. Since its maiden voyage in 2016, the cruise has managed to accommodate more than 22,000 guests.

The Bermudian chief executive Nathaniel Turner noted that this cruise is a dynamic blend of soca music performances, vibrant themed parties and immersive cultural activities. While highlighting about its future plan, he stated that it is all set for its tenth sailing, called the X-Edition.

He mentioned about this edition and stated that it will play a huge role in showcasing the very best of Caribbean entertainment. He added that more than 80 artists are anticipated to perform on the ship, fostering the diverse and rich musical heritage of the Caribbean.

Turner also added that Ubersoca Cruise has not yet been included in its itinerary, but he is optimistic about its future sailings and stated that it usually generates an economic impact of around $2.5 million dollars for each destination.

He added that they are anticipating that the addition of Bermuda would be even more beneficial for both the passengers and the guests of the island nation.
