Barbados to host 6th CARIFTA Triathlon & Aquathlon championships
The elite event will be staged at the Mighty Grynner Highway in Bridgetown and will provide this regional sporting show piece with a vibrant back drop.

Barbados is all set to witness the brilliance of the athletes and officials converge as it hosts the 6th CARIFTA Triathlon & Aquathlon Championships from 16-18 August 2024.
The elite event will be staged at the Mighty Grynner Highway in Bridgetown and will provide this regional sporting show piece with a vibrant back drop.
This year’s championship will feature Barbados, proudly presenting a team of 35 members, whereby Barbadians will attest the competitive spirit and talent. Further, 157 athletes from 11 other Caribbean countries and territories will be participating in the games on the island.
This is the enlisting of the participating countries: Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St Kitts & Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago. The talented athletes as a part of the cutting-edge lineup, will be increasing the regional focus and commitment to triathlon and aquathlon sports.
The home base of the event is the Athlete Village, at the Accra Beach Hotel in Rockley, Christ Church. It has been strategically located to enable athletes to come in easily during the event and also to find accommodation that will see to them having a comfortable and restful recovery area.
Further overnight facilities have been booked at the Hilton Barbados and at Rockley Golf Club so that adequacies and sufficiency of lodgings are available for all the persons in the occasion.
The championships will also cater for 37 officials drawn from across the region that will be tasked with the duty of ensuring that the championships are fair and that there should be no compromise with any of the competitors.
It is to ensure that the level of participation and sponsorship support is an attribute that distinguishes the CARIFTA Games.
The Sixth CARIFTA is anticipated to be an interesting, tense triathlon and aquathlon championship, in which youth of the Caribbean region will show the outcome of their preparation. Located attractively near the sea and having a high degree of regional participation, the championships are in the process of becoming an interesting and highly stimulating sporting event.
Both the viewers of the event and those who are going to participate in the event are eagerly waiting for the same, which is due to be held over the weekend to showcase the prowess of the athlete, sportsmanship and to foster regional pride.
Barbados is looking forward to the chance to deliver a magnificent occasion and to uplift and provide an electrified experience at the Carnival of Caribbean Athletics at this meeting.
