Castries, Saint Lucia: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries at el – Ernest Hilaire felt delighted to announce the launch of World Tourism Week 2023 in Saint Lucia. He stated that the Tourism Authorities of the Caribbean nation came together to attend the launch ceremony of the Week.

The Tourism Minister, who also serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, took to his official social media to share a glimpse of the opening ceremony. He regarded the celebration as an important one while addressing the general public of Saint Lucia.

Minister of Tourism Hilaire noted that the Ministry of Tourism, along with the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Community Tourism Agency and Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association, launched World Tourism Week 2023 on September 07.

In the year 2023, Tourism Week is being celebrated under the theme “Tourism and Green Investments”.

Ernest Hilaire further highlighted that this is aimed at implementing and investing in sustainable initiatives within the tourism sector to protect the environment.

“We are committed to ensuring that all new investments in the sector, as well as previous ones, adhere to policies that create eco-friendly activities and do not harm the environment,” he mentioned through his official social media account.

He further anticipated to have an interesting week of activities. Tourism Minister also stated that the Tourism Authorities of Saint Lucia will celebrate World Tourism Day with a bang on September 27, 2023.

“I look forward to the week’s activities and the participation of all stakeholders and the general public in all the activities,” he outlined.

On September 8, the Ministry of Tourism launched the calendar for a week-long celebration. As per the official schedule, the observance will commence on September 24 and will be concluded on September 30.
