Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: Bridget Ramsumair, a 20-year-old woman, is expected to reappear in court for the charge of killing her uncle, Ghandi Ramlochan, in Chaguanas.
It is to be noted that she killed her uncle Ramlochan, who was visiting Trinidad from the US in July 2023. The suspect was identified to belong to Endeavor Chaguanas.
She is expected to reappear virtually before a Magistrate with the offence of murder.
Details about the matter
Notably, a 66-year-old US citizen, Ghandi, also known as ‘Bobby’, reportedly came to Trinidad on Saturday, July 1, 2023, to celebrate his 67th birthday.
He was found burnt to death inside a rented vehicle along Caroni South Bank Road on Monday, July 3, 2023.
At around 8:30 pm, ranks of the Caroni police station received a report of a missing person after the victim was last seen or heard on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Noting this, the responding officers were then informed that Ramlochan had rented a Hyundai Elantra, which is registered as PEB 5743, from Alamo Car Rentals in Piarco.
In addition to this, they received the vehicle’s GP coordinates, and with its help, they managed to reach Caroni South Bank Road near a Lagoon off the roadway.
As soon as they reached the site, they discovered a burnt vehicle.
It is to be noted that further checks on the vehicle led them to the discovery of burnt human remains in the trunk and the number plate. This evidence matched the victim’s rental car, which was found on the ground near the vehicle.
This news gained a lot of opinions and reactions on the social media platform. One such comment by a person named as Toney Ragoonath read as,
“People don’t know how hard that man worked in the USA to become a US citizen to be reduced to this demise by someone of some people who have their hand in his murder. That is just not right. I sincerely hope justice prevails; they know who they are, and all the rest are running around blending into society as if nothing happened. God sees everyone and everyone.”
Another person by the name of Clifford Roopnarine wrote, “Most likely money or inheritance is involved to murder a stranger is bad enough but to murder a relative shows someone who is very evil.”
