St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew appreciated the unwavering dedication and efforts of the workers at the new NHC model home in Conaree, St Kitts and Nevis.

It is to be noted that PM Drew paid an official visit to the construction site on Thursday to take note of the ongoing progress across the site.

While expressing delight PM Terrance Drew stated “I am pleased to witness the impressive strides at the new NHC model home in Conaree. I visited yesterday, and the dedication of the workers is truly commendable. Well done.”

Notably, the administration of the island nation conducted a ceremony to mark the initiation of the construction of model homes on 18th September 2023 at Taylor’s Range Basseterre.  The ceremony shed light on their vision of providing new, smart, and modern homes to qualified citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.

It was hosted by partners of the government in this project, a Trinidad Developer, East Coast Housing Development and the National Housing Corporation.

The ceremony was attended by PM Dr Terrance Drew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Housing and Human Settlement Dr Geoffrey Hanley and other members of the cabinet.

National Housing Corporation has been working tirelessly to fulfil their commitment of constructing 2400 ideal living spaces and smart homes by the year 2027, having already delivered 600 homes each year to the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.

The main purpose behind this initiative was to build the confidence of the people who have lost hope of owning a home. This initiative will also play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life of the natives of the island nation.

This initiative began with the reviewing of applications and designs of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes. The homes will be constructed as per the needs of the citizens so as to provide them with affordable housing.

Moreover, the residents of the island nation also expressed their excitement seeing the progress of the project. They shared their excitement through their social media accounts. One person with a Facebook account Viona Garnett commented “Looking great. Stay focus Sir. Have a blessed day Sir. Keep up the good works. No weapon form against you shall prosper. With God’s help you will get the everything in order. God bless you daily. Thanks for all you have done so far.”

While another person commented the following “To God be the glory great things has come to St Kitts and Nevis Hon Dr Terrance Drew.”

The completion of the National Housing Cooperation model house holds immense potential to contribute to the economic growth of St Kitts and Nevis. Along with that, it will play a pivotal role in providing job opportunities and accessible pathways to homeownership for the citizens of the island nation.
