American cruise ship passenger detained for firearm.

Castries, Saint Lucia: A male in his 30s, recognised as a US national, was detained by police officers on Sunday as he was discovered with a firearm in his backpack at Port Castries. On asking the details, the officers recovered an expired licence for the firearm.

According to the reports, the US national was visiting Saint Lucia via a cruise ship docked at Port Castries. The police doubted the suspect, and they searched his bag.

During the search, they found a firearm for which he had an expired license. The investigating officers immediately seized the weapon, and the man was returned to the ship.

As per the rule and law, the firearm will be sent back to its owner once he renews the firearm’s license. Further investigation of the matter is ongoing.

The two senior RSLPF officers who were leading the investigation were called for comment. One officer was astonished, saying: “I don’t know why he wasn’t redirected to custody suits.”

Notably, the news has been shared on various social media pages, and many people took to their Facebook handles to extend their opinions. While reacting to the news, a person named Lukie Walker questioned, “How did he get on the cruise with the firearm and an expired licence for it?”

However, the question is how he had taken the firearm on the cruise despite top-notch Security. Such shocking incidents have raised serious concerns about the security protocols at Port Castries after a passenger managed to board a cruise ship with a firearm.

Even people raised questions about the Security of the passengers. While questioning, a person named Pamela Nurse added, “Security on cruise ships are top notch and extremely thorough, so I have to ask how was this even possible? Something doesn’t make sense here.”

The public urged to place its security company on the cruise for more Security.
