Students of Roseau Central Annual Summer Camp engages with PM Roosevelt Skerrit
The Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit hosted the students of the Roseau Central Annual Summer Camp on Monday and held exciting discussions on education and other fun activities.

Roseau, Dominica: The Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit hosted the students of the Roseau Central Annual Summer Camp on Monday and held exciting discussions on education and other fun activities.
The camp is being organized by the Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, Melissa Poponne Skerrit and is running from 10th July 2024 and will continue till 24th July 2024.
In this summer camp, the children from ages 5 to 12 are getting an opportunity to enjoy several exciting activities including Arts and Crafts, Soap Making, Cooking, excursions, jewellery making, creole craft, tik-tok video creation, candle making, cuisine, arts Chinese style, Dominica cuisine-outdoor cooking-eat what we grow, Photography, Song writing and Drama and Dance.
This Summer Camp was conducted by Minister Melissa Skerrit with a vision to promote social skills and teamwork among young children. Along with that, she also aims to develop confidence among children and helps them grow by providing a positive and interactive environment. Therefore, as a part of their camp, all the participants of the camp visited Office of the Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica.
During their visit, children interacted with the leader and exchanged significant dialogues about their camp and their ambitions. The children shared their camp experiences and the activities which they enjoyed doing the most. Along with that, they also posed several questions to the leader about his job, his duties and responsibilities. Overall, the children had a fun interaction with the leader and learnt several teachings given by the Prime Minister.
During their interaction, the Prime Minister also asked several knowledgeable questions to the students and conducted fun games and activities.
Notably, the gathering of students also featured the children of Prime Minister Skerrit, Dmitry and Isabella. “The students were enthusiastic, curious and posed questions about the job and shared their summer camp experiences,” noted PM Skerrit.
Moreover, Minister Melissa Skerrit shared the glimpses of students enjoying various activities and noted that summer camp has kicked off in Dominica with a twist this year. She asserted that they are offering kids more of outdoor activities which could help them explore and engage in.
She further noted that from Discover Dominica Days to hiking at Jack’s Walk, visiting Freshwater Lake and Ti Kwen Glo Sho, drumming, and fun circle times with positive affirmations, daily reading, math power, movie time and the ever-popular Fun Day Fridays – like last week’s ooey-gooey slime day.
She stated that this summer will completely be unforgettable for all the students which will be filled with lots of learning and fun.
Also, the children are being treated to visits with key state officials as a part of a diverse array of fun and educational activities.
