St Kitts: Warner Park Cricket Stadium undergoes renovation for upcoming CPL

With a vision to enhance the overall experience of both spectator and players, the authorities of St Kitts and Nevis are making significant renovations in Warner Park Cricket Stadium.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: With a vision to enhance the overall experience of both spectator and players, the authorities of St Kitts and Nevis are making significant renovations in Warner Park Cricket Stadium. The stadium will soon be hosting 5 matches of the highly anticipated Caribbean Premier League in few months.

The new Jumbotron and lighting infrastructure has been installed in order to prepare the stadium for the  Caribbean Premier League. The CPL is one of the biggest parties in sport which is an annual T20 Cricket tournament held in the Caribbean, founded by the Cricket West Indies.

The Minister of Sports of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins expressed his excitement on the upgradations being made in the stadium and stated that he is extremely proud of all these developments. While acknowledging the abilities of the citizens of the community, he noted that these upgrades are being carried out by the local experts which showcase their skills and talent.

Minister Duggins also asserted that this project will not only elevate the sporting facilities of the country but will also provide valuable job opportunities to the people with a vision to stimulate local economic growth and development.

Also, the Minister noted that the Caribbean Premier League matches being played in the stadium will also attract large number of tourists to the country which will also boost the tourism sector of the nation.

Notably, Caribbean Premier League will be effective from 30th August and the last game will be played on 7th October 2024, with matches taking place across six host countries. The nations that will be hosting the CPL includes, St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Barbados, Saint Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.

Also, Warner Park Cricket Stadium of St Kitts and Nevis will be hosting six games of the Caribbean Premier League. The entire schedule of the games to be hosted in the stadium includes,

  • Sunday, 1st September – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders
  • Monday, 2nd September – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Saint Lucia Kings
  • Thursday, 5th September – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Guyana Amazon Warriors
  • Saturday, 7th September – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Barbados Royals
  • Sunday, 8th September – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons

The Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins asked all the citizens of the country to get ready and cheer on the SKN Patriots.
