St Kitts and Nevis: The cases due to COVID-19 have been witnessing a downward trend for the past few weeks, but it has again started increasing. As to the data shared by the health ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, the active case tally has now reached five (5).

Out of the total active cases, four (4) have been reported in St Kitts, and the rest, one (1), has been registered in Nevis.

After witnessing a continuous downfall in cases for weeks, St Kitts and Nevis reported the first confirmed case on April 4, 2022, and the active cases count reached one (1). However, according to the latest data shared by the health ministry, the twin-island Federation reported zero (0) confirmed cases as well as zero (0) recoveries.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, country has reported 5,554 confirmed COVID-19 cases; of these, 4,709 cases were from St Kitts and the remaining were from Nevis. Meanwhile, as many as 5,506 patients have been fully recovered from the deadly virus; St Kitts reported 4,669 recoveries and Nevis registered around 837.

As per the health ministry, the total number of deaths reported in the twin-island federation is 43.

In accordance with the latest data, the total COVID-19 vaccine doses administrated to the population of St Kitts and Nevis are 58,160; out of this 26, 592 people have received full vaccination, which makes around 77.9 percent of the total population.

Recently, Prime Minister– Dr Timothy Harris paid tribute to the residents for effective management of the global pandemic COVID-19.

Prime Minister Harris stated, “I pay tribute to the people of St Kitts & Nevis who have been key in helping us to manage COVID-19 as well as we have.”

PM Harris shared this message after St Kitts and Nevis’ 77.9 percent population received all doses of the vaccine against COVID-19.
