Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, condemned the robbery that happened in two (2) RAMS supermarkets in the nation. As per the official updates, the alleged armed robbery took place at Douglas Estate, St Peter’s.
He expressed, “I wholeheartedly condemn the actions of the perpetrators who engaged in the robbery of the two RAMS supermarkets last evening and the alleged armed robbery at Douglas Estate, St Peter’s.”
He shared that he is concerned about increasing robbery cases in the Federation and will take all the possible measures to handle the situation. PM Drew further mentioned that his administration will make St Kitts and Nevis a suitable and safe as well as secure country for each and every resident.
The Prime Minister of the Federation took social media and stated, “I am deeply troubled by the recent events. These criminal acts negatively affect our community, and businesses must discontinue.”
Additionally, he assured that the Government of St Kitts and Nevis is committed to working closely with law enforcement to ensure safety and bring those responsible to justice.
“Let us come together to support one another during this challenging time,” he conveyed through social media.
According to the preliminary reports by the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), a specified team has been investigating the two armed robberies at RAMS supermarkets on Saturday. As per the updates, the incident has occurred at RAM’s Supermarket at Bird Rock and at Camps.
The updates have informed that four (4) armed as well as masked assailants rushed into the RAM’s Supermarket at Camps, wearing hoodies. Reports suggest that the incident occurred at approximately 6:30 in the evening. The official updates stated that the four criminals robbed four cashier’s stations and the vault of a large sum of money before fleeing the scene in a waiting car.
