St Kitts and Nevis: Govt invites people to pray for protection of Federation as Hurricane season commences

St Kitts and Nevis: The 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season is almost here. As per the prediction by the weather forecast experts, the season begins on June 1 and will be concluded on November 30.

The tropical storms will hit the Northern Hemisphere. The convention has adopted these dates; historically describes the period in each year when most subtropical or tropical cyclogenesis occurs in the Atlantic Ocean (over 97 percent).

The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) issued regular Tropical Weather Outlooks on May 15.

Keeping in mind the worst effects of the Hurricane on the Caribbean countries, St Kitts and Nevis government has asked the people of the Federation to join them in the service to pray for the protection of the country and the region.

“You are invited to a service to pray for the protection of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis and the Caribbean as we begin the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season,” the government of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis mentioned.

As per the information by the government, the service was organised at the Pentecost Church of God, which is located in the capital city, on June 1, 2022 (Wednesday).

The statement by the government further added, “The service will take place on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 4:30 pm at the Pentecost Church of God located at Boone Avenue, Basseterre, St Kitts.”

As per the National Hurricane Centre (NHC) reports, Agatha may become the first-named Tropical Storm of 2022. The storm made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane on Mexico’s southern coast on Monday.
