St Kitts and Nevis delegation, led by PM Dr Terrance Drew to attend 77th session of UNGA

St Kitts and Nevis: The contingent of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has reached New York to attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The delegation of the twin-island Federation will be led by Prime Minister – Dr Terrance Drew, who will also make an inaugural presentation to the UNGA.

Prime Minister Drew will be addressing the General Assembly on September 23, 2022 (Friday).

The Prime Minister will accompany eight other ministers and special representatives during his visit to New York. The delegation of St Kitts and Nevis will be represented by Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Prime Minister – Dr Denzil Douglas, Minister of Public infrastructure – Konris Maynard, Minister of Sustainable Development – Dr Joyelle Clarke, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister – Naeemah Hazelle, Senior Assistant Secretary, Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit, Office of Prime Minister – Samuel Berridge, Special Representative and Advisor of the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Gurdip Dev Bath and Aide to the Prime Minister – Dillon Edmeade.

During the absence of Prime Minister Dr Drew, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley has been appointed as the Acting Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minister and the delegation will return to the Caribbean on September 26, 2022.

Dr Terrance Drew was recently elected as the Prime Minister of the Federation after winning the General Elections 2022 with a clean sweep. The expectations of citizens and residents of the island country were very high when the voted and chose St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party. It is worth noting that the newly elected government has been doing great and is lauded by the citizens.

Dr Drew-led government has been working in favour of the people and taking steps for upliftment and advancement of the country. To make the governance transparent, the ministers share weekly as well as monthly reports on social media.

Being a leader of all, Prime Minister Dr Drew never forgets the country’s youth. He visits the schools islandwide and interacts with the students.

Dr Drew led ministry was sworn in on August 15 2022.
