Saint Lucia to host 68th CARPHA Conference on April 24
The 68th CARPHA is scheduled to be held in Saint Lucia on April 24 under the theme “Violence in the Caribbean: a Public Health Crisis.”

Castries, Saint Lucia: The 68th Annual Health Research Conference of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) is scheduled to be held in Saint Lucia on April 24- 27 under the theme “Violence in the Caribbean: a Public Health Crisis.”
At the beginning of the conference, there will be a town hall discussion on the topic “Violence and the Youth” from 6:00 pm at the Financial Administration Centre, Point Seraphine at Castries.
The meeting will feature several topics of concern with a primary focus on Crime and violence, which pose a great threat to the security of the citizens across the Caribbean.
Noting this, the Executive Director of CARPHA- Dr Joy St John stated, “Crime and violence threaten public safety, economies, and mental well-being and is no friend to anyone. It affects all levels of society. The conference will address this scourge inflicting harm across your entire Region. The conference will target researchers, medical, public health professionals and those from related fields.”
Various officials across the Caribbean nations will exchange dialogues and discuss measures to enhance the public health sector and address the challenges that come with a path of sustainable living. As per reports, the CARPHA conference will be attended by the following,
– Chief Medical Officers and researchers
– Law enforcement officers
– Regional security officials
– Health and allied health professionals such as nurses, physicians, psychologists and environmental health officers
Apart from them, many other public health officials from several other Caribbean regions, such as Latin America, North America, and Europe, will also be a part of this productive meeting.
The officials will have an opportunity to share their vision to foster the public health and proposed solutions regarding the spike of crimes in the Caribbean nations. Such meetings are proved fruitful for the countries as they collaborate with each other for mutual benefits and interests.
Besides this, the other topics that will be focused on are violence, public health, mental health, infectious diseases, NCDs, nutrition, and family health. Moreover, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are also available at the CARPHA Conference.
