Saint Lucia: DPM Ernest Hilaire shares update on Art and the City 2023

Ernest Hilaire, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia invited people to celebrate Art and the City event in the month of May.

Castries, Saint Lucia: Ernest Hilaire, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, who also serves as the Minister of Tourism, has invited people all around the world to come and enjoy their time in the nation, as it will be celebrating Art and the City event in the month of May. He has been regularly sharing information with the general public through his official social media account.

According to the latest update posted by the minister on April 16, 2023 (Sunday), the festival will see a gathering of two artists showcasing their spoken word, poetry and music arts. On May 8 and May 9, young Saint Lucian artists will display their art to the general public, present there.

Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire has also informed that Martiniquan Poet 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 and Trinidadian Female Poet 𝐙𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥 will also entertain the audience.

The social media post by the minister read, “Two nights of an eclectic mix of spoken word/poetry and music. Featuring young up-and-coming Saint Lucian poets and Saint Lucia’s very own Arts & Letters 2010 Laureate, Martiniquan Poet 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 and Trinidadian Female Poet 𝐙𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥.”

The update also shared the schedule for two days, which also informed about the admission fee and details about the time as well as the venue.

The early updates by the minister of tourism informed about other events to be organised during Art and the City. According to the update, between May 7 and 11, Arts Square Visual Exhibition will be held at Derek Walcott Square, and admission will be free.
