PM Terrance Drew visits St Peter’s Main Road and F T Williams Highway to assess progress
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew made a visit to St. Peter’s Main Road and F. T. Williams Highway in order to see the construction ongoing and the progress made in the Road Rehabilitation Project.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew made a visit to St Peter’s Main Road and F T Williams Highway in order to see the construction ongoing and the progress made in the Road Rehabilitation Project.
He was quite pleased to see that work has reached a certain point where heavy machinery has started operating, ensuring the work, is effective and efficient for the workers.

While taking to his social media account, PM Drew shared a few glimpses of the visit and said “Earlier today I visited the St Peter’s Main Road and F. T. Williams Highway where the Road Rehabilitation Project is taking place, to check on the progress and I was quite pleased.”
PM Terrance Drew remarked that they are making tireless efforts to ensure that they can complete the work within its projected time so that they can resolve the problems which residents are facing due to the construction of the main road.

While shedding light on the disruptions caused by the traffic due to the ongoing construction, PM Drew expressed satisfaction and delight that the improved and transformed infrastructure will soon provide benefits to the citizens.
“I was assured by the developer, Rock & Dirt Ltd., that every measure is being put in place to ensure that the work is completed within its projected time,” noted PM Terrance Drew.
The road rehabilitation project is a comprehensive initiative which looks to resurface roads, starting from the roundabout by the R L Bradshaw International Airport, going by the F T Williams Highway, moving through the Shadwell round-a-bout towards New Road, till Ogees.
The owner of Rock & Dirt Limited, the main contractor on the Rehabilitation of the St Peter’s Main Road and F T Williams Highway East Project, Alexis Hazel considered round-a-bout as one of the most crucial components of the project.
While giving updates on the work he said “They are cutting back the hillside of the road to open it as much as possible, because they are designing the road for better tomorrow.” He added that further work will be carried out at several locations which will ensure greater efficiency on the road rehabilitation project.
PM Drew has made his vision evident by pursuing the repair and reconstruction of roads to reduce the risk of accidents and improve the safety of all road users. He has also stated that authorities will focus on the proper maintenance of said roads to ensure that they last for a considerable period of time.
