PM Skerrit, Melissa Skerrit meet singer-songwriter Sinach during her visit to Dominica

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit met renowned gospel singer, Sinach and her family on March 31, 2022 (Friday). During the meeting, PM Skerrit was accompanied by his wife and Parliamentary Representative of Roseau Central Constituency – Melissa Poponne-Skerrit.

Currently, the singer has been on a trip to the Caribbean island with her family to celebrate her 50th birthday.

“I, along with my wife, Hon. Melissa Skerrit welcomed renowned gospel singer, Sinach and her family for a visit on Friday. The singer-songwriter of “Way Maker” and “I know who I am” fame is in Dominica for the celebration of her 50th birthday,” Prime Minister Skerrit took social media to inform about the recent meet.

During the meeting, the singer-songwriter of “Way Maker” and “I know who I am” lauded Prime Minister Skerrit and the Government of Dominica for their efforts during the rough time of COVID-19 and post-Hurricane Maria, which hit the nation in the year 2017.

“Sinach congratulated the Government of Dominica for our tremendous efforts in the post-Hurricane Maria period and for the management of COVID-19,” Prime Minister was quoted.

She also offered prayers for the continuous success of Dominica. The singer further extended thanks to the Government as well as residents of Dominica for their kind hospitality.

“She offered prayers for continued success in the management of our country’s affairs and thanked the Government and people of Dominica for the love and kindness extended to her family and friends over the past week,” PM stated.

Many Dominicans commented and wished Sinach Happy Birthday in advance and a good stay on the Nature Island. One wrote, “Great picture, God bless u always, PM and First Lady. Enjoy your stay in Dominica Sinach; happy birthday.”

Yet another mentioned, “That is why I will always LOVE MY PRIME MINISTER. THE BEST EVERRRRRRRRRR. THANKS, SINACH AND CHOIR, FOR THOSE BEAUTIFUL RENDITIONS. PRAISE THE LORD.”

The third outlined, “Welcome to our beautiful Dominica. I hope u and your family enjoy your stay and come back again.”
