PM Harris joins virtual ACT’s 9th virtual meet on COVID-19

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris participated in a virtual meet hosted by the Accelerator Facilitation Council (ACT). It was ACT’s 9th meeting.
The objective of the ACT-Accelerate Facilitation Council Meeting was to identify the barriers and strategies for increasing uptake and use of tools against COVID-19 at the national level.
The attendees also discussed the strategies to expand COVID-19 vaccine production and improve the strategy of the COVID Task Force.
“The ACT-Accelerator Facilitation Council Meeting is geared towards bringing multilateral stakeholders together in an effort to identify barriers and strategies for increasing uptake and use of #Covid19 tools at the country level and to guide the #COVAX Task Force on strategies to expand Covid-19 vaccine production,” Prime Minister Harris stated.
The vaccination drive has ramped up in St Kitts and Nevis; as many as 26,340 populations have received complete vaccination, and around 57,546 doses have been given to the people. Of the total, 43,725 doses have been administrated in St Kitts and 13,821 in Nevis. The number of booster doses administrated to the people is – 3,039.
The COVID-19 status in St Kitts and Nevis has been improving, and on some days, it also reports zero (0) new cases and zero (0) deaths. As per data by the health ministry on February 28 (till 6 in the evening), the twin-island federation reported zero (0) new cases, deaths as well as recoveries.
As per the health minister, the total number of confirmed cases in the island country is 5,530; out of the total, 6,693 cases have been reported from St Kitts, and the remaining 837 were from Nevis. The count of the recoveries in the nation is at 5,480; 4,650 in St Kitts and 830 in Nevis.
The deaths due to COVID-19 is below 50 in the nation. The death toll stands at 42, of which only seven (7) deaths were reported from Nevis.
At present, Nevis has 0 active cases of the deadly virus. Total number of active cases in country is eight (8).
