Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) informed the customers served by Aripo Water Treatment Plant in North East Trinidad that there will be a disruption in the water supply on Thursday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
The areas supposed to experience water disruption are Santa Rosa Heights, Tractor Pool Road, Pinto Road, KP Lands Valencia, Silica Road, Valencia, La Plata Valencia, Train Line, and Tumpuna Road Malabar from Henri Steet to Malabar Branch Road.
According to WASA, this has been important in order to facilitate the maintenance work at the facility, due to which the people of the areas as mentioned earlier will suffer water interruption.
The water department further stated that it would take some time for the supply to normalize in the affected areas. A limited truck-borne service will be made available upon request. This can be requested through the following self-service options such as
– People may use the mobile WASA Services App. Android users may download the application from the Play Store, and iPhone users can download the app from the Apple Store
– People can also use the Customer Portal, which is available on the Authority’s website, wasa.gov.tt.
– Customers can make use of direct assistance or can call WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll-free number.
WASA expected the people to maintain peace and cooperation. People are advised to be prepared with basic arrangements to combat the situation.
Last month, the areas of North East Trinidad, served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, went without water on January 23. Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) conducted maintenance work, which resulted in the disruption of the water supply.
The T&TEC work affected Sangre Grande (Town), Sangre Chiquito, Malabar Phases 1,3, & 4, Coalmine, La Horquetta, Golden Grove Road, Sunrise Park, Maloney Gardens, San Rafael, and Millenium Park, among others.
Noting this, the work had disturbed the electricity supply to the facility.
