Windward Islands Volcanoes 13-man squad announced for West Indies Championship 2024
The Windward Islands Cricket Board announced a 13-man squad to represent the Windward Islands Volcanoes Franchise in their first match against Jamaica Scorpions in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional First-Class Championship.

Arnos Vale, St. Vincent: The Windward Islands Cricket Board announced a 13-man squad to represent the Windward Islands Volcanoes Franchise in their first match against Jamaica Scorpions in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional First-Class Championship. The championship is scheduled to begin in Jamaica and St Kitts on 7th February 2024.
It is to be noted that Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge, the West Indian test players, are currently on tour with the West Indies team in Australia for the Test and One Day international series. They will be available after the series, i.e. in the second round of matches.
In the absence of Alick Athanaze and Kavem Hodge, the former West Indies Under-19 captain, Kimani Melius, is given the maiden opportunity to lead the team. Meanwhile, Ryan John has been named the team’s vice-captain.

The match schedule for the Windward Islands Volcanoes
7th -10th February: Jamaica Scorpions will compete against Windward Islands Volcanoes at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
14th-17th February: Barbados Pride will compete against Windwards Islands Volcanoes at Kensington Cricket Club, Jamaica.
21st-24th February: Windwards Islands Volcanoes will face CCC at Chedwin Park in Jamaica.
13th-16th March: Trinidad & Tobago Red Force will face Windward Islands Volcanoes at Queen’ Park Hill Oval, Trinidad.
20th- 23rd March: Guyana Harpy Eagles will compete against Windward Islands Volcanoes at UWI SPEC, Trinidad.
10th-13th April: West Indies Academy will face Windward Islands Volcanoes at CCG, Antigua.
17th -20th April: Leeward Islands Hurricanes will compete against Windward Islands Volcanoes at UWI Spec, Trinidad.
Notably, the team will depart from St Vincent on 3rd February for Jamaica for their first match against Jamaica Scorpions. In the West Indies Championship 2023, the Windward Islands Franchise played unbeaten for the first time in its history. However, Guyana Harpy Eagles were the only other team to have played unbeaten and were crowned champions after amassing the most points.
