Antigua: Clare Hall Health Center to resume services after transformation

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment of Antigua and Barbuda has announced the reopening of Clare Hall Health Center on May 13th, 2024, after its refurbishment. The services at the center will resume to benefit the citizens.

Antigua and Barbuda: The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment of Antigua and Barbuda has announced the reopening of Clare Hall Health Center on May 13th, 2024, after its refurbishment. The services at the center will resume to benefit the citizens.

It is to be noted, that Clare Hall Health Center, Antigua has been undergoing upgrades after its temporary relocation on July 3rd 2023. The medical clinic was closed after it was deemed “unfit for use”, after floods disrupted the regular operations of providing medical care to the people of the area.

Health Minister Molwyn Joseph shared that the required upgrade was aimed at the revitalization of the infrastructure, service expansion and making the clinic resilient to all the natural disasters. The minister has been continuously visiting the site during its renovation phase, to keep check on the progress and always assured the staff and residents that the clinic will reopen soon to serve the residents.

The Ministry thanked the people of the area for being patient and cooperative during the period of renovation and relocation. But now the wait is over, all the services will resume in full range of service and as per the regular schedule, the Ministry of Health stated.

The center will immediately provide the patients with a wide array of services that include an Antenatal Clinic, a Hypertension and Diabetic Clinic, a Psychiatric Clinic, a Daily Doctor, a Wound Care unit that will do the dressing of the wounds and a Family Planning and infant registration. All these services are walk-ins and will be available on a daily basis.

Few services that require prior appointments are Postnatal and Neonatal services, meeting the Nutritionist. Patients aged 0-16 years and above the age of 60 can consult the District Medical Officer. Clare Hall Health Center also has a facility for HPV Testing, that can be accessed through both walk-ins and appointments.

Also, the Child Health Clinic will only be serving on first Wednesdays and fourth Thursdays. However, walk-ins are allowed to take updates about vaccination status. The authorities have also decided to provide uninterrupted services to the locals, so for that they have fixed weekends for upgradation and maintenance of the facility so as to avoid any kind of disruption.

The reopening of Clare Hall Health Center with the upgrades in both infrastructure as well as facilities is a milestone achieved by Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation and the Environment which has been constantly working for providing the citizens with best healthcare facilities.
